The chemical industry
The chemical industry is a sector with positive growth and huge potential. The foundation stone for this growth was laid by the arrival of US chemical corporation DOW and the central German oil refinery of Total Deutschland GmbH. In the immediate vicinity of the DOW production facilities ValuePark was developed, where many companies in the plastics processing industry and chemical-related services operate.

The solar industry

The food and beverages industry
Next to the chemical industry foodstuffs are the region’s industrial sector with the highest turnover and account for almost 20% of all industrial jobs. With investment of approx. 100 million euros companies such as Coca Cola AG, Halloren Schokoladenfabrik AG and baking mix producer Kathi Rainer Thiele GmbH have reinforced their market position.
