The provider of fulfillment services eBay Enterprise (now Radial) has set up its first German logistics centre in Halle – with special focus on e-commerce companies. In 2014 the company decided to construct its new HQ on Star Park – its first location in Europe. Thanks to uncomplicated support from the municipality of Halle (Saale) and the fast implementation of all formalities, it only took 12 months to the official opening. The newly-constructed 28,000 m² location is home above all to online retailers and global brands. They include brands4friends, Germany’s first and largest shopping club for fashion and lifestyle.
Ulf Bellersheim is aware of the fact that consumers don’t just want to shop everywhere and at all times, but also wish to have their goods delivered to the place they specify at the time they specify. This involves above all one thing: speed. Accordingly one of the main reasons for the selection of Halle (Saale) as the base for the company was its central location and excellent transport links. In particular the fast access to international providers of shipping services and the airport with the DHL international hub played a major role in the decision. In addition the location was also attractive to the company’s workforce. Halle (Saale) has a great deal to offer in the fields of culture, recreation and sport as well as nightlife, and creates the right balance between work and leisure.
